New York Giants should target Ezekiel Elliott in NFL Draft
The New York Giants might very well have a shot at selecting the best running back of the 2016 NFL Draft in Ezekiel Elliott. He should be their top target heading into the yearly event for what he would bring to the table.
Make no mistake about it, the Giants haven’t had a premier running back in quite some time. A new era is beginning in the city that never sleeps under new head coach Ben McAdoo as he will do everything it takes to bring the Giants back into the NFL playoffs. Of course the most important part of any NFL offseason is how well a team does in the draft as that is how contenders are built.

The best teams are the ones that wisely build their roster through the draft as it could make or break a season depending on what kind of players are brought into the mix. In my most recent mock draft, I actually have the Giants landing Elliott as he drops to them with their No. 10 overall pick.
McAdoo is an offensive guru and will undoubtedly push the envelope this upcoming season. It all starts with fielding an offensive juggernaut as the dynamic duo of quarterback Eli Manning and wide receiver Odell Beckham is missing that one piece to make it the next incredible trifecta to hit the NFL by storm next season.
One can only imagine the impact Elliott will have with the Giants should they draft him. He’s a dual-threat kind of impact player that will make his presence known early and often once he transitions into the NFL. He will bring such a huge amount of success at the position that the Giants could be flat out scary on offense with a new triple threat ready to score a ton of touchdowns and leave defenses guessing what’s coming next.

Elliott brings a nice resume with him to the NFL. He was a catalyst on offense for Ohio State and proved to be able to go up against some of the best teams in the nation and leave victorious.
In his collegiate career, Elliott as a running back totaled 3,961 yards and 43 touchdowns on 592 carries. As a receiving option, he amassed 449 yards and a score on 58 receptions.
While Elliott will need to work on his receiving skills, Manning will no doubt love to have this explosive weapon ready to be deployed. Elliott does well in blocking and would add such a great dimension to the Giants’ offense as he can do anything that is asked of him efficiently.
In an article written by James Kratch of NJ.com, Elliott already sounds like he would be a perfect fit on the Giants. Here’s what he had to say on Fox Sports “The Panel” when he was asked about Big Blue:
"“I can see it now: Eli (Manning), Odell (Beckham Jr.), and then me. That’s a three-headed monster right there. I think we’d give everyone a run for their money. I think we could go win a Super Bowl pretty early.”"

Overall, even though the Giants already have a plethora of running backs in their backfield, a player with the skill-set of Elliott only comes once in a decade or so. There is no doubt he will be a future superstar that can carry a team straight to a championship. For the sake of the Giants, they have the potential to launch a deadly offense this upcoming season should they turn their already established dynamic duo into a potential record-breaking triple threat.
