It was a disappointing season for the Baltimore Ravens in 2015, and one of the many reasons for that was Breshad Perriman missing the entire season.

The Baltimore Ravens had high expectations for their first round pick of 2015 last season, but Breshad Perriman had some tough luck as a rookie. After originally hurting his knee on the first day of training camp last season, Perriman wasn’t expected to miss a significant amount of time. However, the offseason went on, the regular season started, and before you knew it, Perriman missed the entire season.

It is never good for a rookie to miss his first offseason of activities with the team, but Perriman was a good student during the regular season and should feel comfortable stepping into a decent role on the Ravens this coming season.

“I feel much stronger,” Perriman said, via the team’s website. “I feel like I went through a lot last year, and it made me a better player and a better person. … It’s been crazy. I’ve been through a lot this offseason, but it’s just making me stronger again and just learning to keep faith and pray a lot more. It’s been rough. It still is rough from time to time, but I’m steady getting through it, pushing through it and keeping faith.”

Perriman was impressive in OTA’s for the Ravens last season, as the organization hoped that he would be their No.2 wide receiver alongside Steve Smith Sr. Perriman didn’t have an outstanding college career, but he did play very well in 2014 at Central Florida. In 2014, Perriman totaled 50 receptions, 1.044 receiving yards, and nine receiving touchdowns. Perriman was able to average 20.9 yards per receptions, as the Ravens understandably thought that he would be an excellent fit with the strong-armed, Joe Flacco.

The Ravens will get to see Perriman on the field for them in 2016, as their receiving corps looks like it is much better shaped than when they drafted Perriman. Last season, Kamar Aiken was able to total 75 receptions, 944 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns. The breakout season for Aiken was a good sign for the Ravens heading into this season, as he has proven to be a valuable weapon.

Smith was also going to be retiring after last season, but the season-ending injury for him led him to not want to go out with an injury, and he will be back next season. The Ravens were also able to acquire Mike Wallace this offseason to add even more depth at wide receiver. Wallace didn’t have a great season in 2015 with the Minnesota Vikings, but he is a receiver that has had a nice career.

As of now, the Ravens have four pretty talented wide receivers on their depth chart, so we may see a pretty dynamic passing attack for the Ravens in 2016 led by Flacco. Hopefully, Perriman will be able to stay healthy throughout the offseason and make an impact for the Ravens in 2016.
