Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan opened the scoring against the Indianapolis Colts with a touchdown catch. Seriously.

The Tennessee Titans were riding high coming into NFL Week 7. After a slow start to the 2016 season, they had won two-straight to get to .500. Their matchup at home against the Indianapolis Colts offered them the opportunity to really start making noise in the AFC South. Right out of the gate, they started pulling out tricks—tricks in the shape of left tackle Taylor Lewan.

No, Lewan wasn’t continuing to be one of the best tackles and linemen in the league this season. Instead, the big fella lined up as an eligible receiver in the red zone. Then, Mike Mularkey absolutely drew up a wonderful little trick play.

Lewan got off the line and went into his block. However, he disengaged quickly and flared out to the left for a little screen. Because he’s a left tackle, no one was matched up with him. Subsequently, the big man was able to rumble up the field and into the end zone for the score:

You know it’s going to be a good day of football when it starts off with a big guy touchdown.

Taylor Lewan really has been one of the star linemen in the league this season. By any measure, he’s been a driving force behind the success of the Titans to this point. However, I doubt we’ll see much more of him in the receiving game moving forward. So, cherish this moment.
