Two teams looking to hold onto slim playoff chances face off in NFL Week 9. The New York Jets travel down south to take on their AFC East rivals, the Miami Dolphins, at Hard Rock Stadium. Both teams enter this matchup riding two-game winning streaks. New York’s latest victim was the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, the Dolphins edged the Buffalo Bills in their most recent win two weeks ago prior to their bye.

The Jets essentially played two different games last week. They were terrible in the first half and on-point in the second half. New York’s defense found its rhythm and was able to shut down the Browns. They will have to play a complete game this week, though, as the Dolphins have the weapons to take down New York.
Ndamukong Suh has posted 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks so far in 2016 and is always a force in the middle of the defensive line. Nick Mangold is likely going to miss his second straight game, so backup Wesley Johnson will have his hands full. New York will need to win that matchup in order to win this divisional tilt.
The Dolphins will look to get the ball to Jay Ajayi, who is coming off of back to back 200-yard rushing performances. Despite a defense that has performed far below expectations, the Jets still rank as the league’s top run defense. They have allowed just 74 yards per contest on the ground and will be looking to bring Ajayi back to Earth. Look for this matchup to be key.
Also watch to see if Miami picks on Darrelle Revis. He was taken apart by Terrelle Pryor last week to the tune of six receptions for 101 yards. The newly turned receiver was not the one to make Revis look old. He told Kimberley Martin of Newsday that his body is breaking down. Jarvis Landry could be a thorn in his side, but let’s see if the Dolphins take advantage. The Jets have given up big plays in the passing game all year long and Miami needs to take their shots.
