Coming off of back-to-back impressive victories over the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, the 7-2-1 Seattle Seahawks will travel across the country to take on the 5-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. Along with the Dallas Cowboys, the Seahawks appear to be the class of the NFC this season. Their defense continues to be dominant and quarterback Russell Wilson is playing at an MVP level in recent weeks.
The Bucs are an interesting young team, but on paper, the Seahawks have an obvious advantage here. That being said, there is a reason that they play the games. Seattle is undoubtedly a great team. However, they are typically much better at home as opposed to on the road. They have been dominant at home this season, going 5-0, but are a less than stellar 2-2-1 on the road.
That being said, the Bucs are 1-4 at home this season as opposed to 4-1 on the road. Neither team may put forward their best performances this week. Jameis Winston and Mike Evans have become arguably the best quarterback-wide receiver combination in the NFL this season. Evans is an absolute monster on the field and while Winston is inconsistent, he has shown a ton of raw ability.
Tampa Bay will obviously look to get Evans involved early and often, but the Seahawks will undoubtedly pay a ton of attention to him. Star cornerback Richard Sherman does not typically shadow wide receivers across the field, but with Evans being the clear number one option, Seattle may make an exception this week.
