In the Washington Redskins offense, it’s easy for someone to get lost in the mix and completely overlooked. That’s where Maurice Harris is right now.

The Washington Redskins offense is currently overloaded, in the best possible way. Kirk Cousins has been masterful at quarterback lately, playing his way into a massive deal. Jordan Reed continues to be one of the best tight ends in football, while Vernon Davis is having a resurgence.

Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson are both playing at a high level, working towards contracts as well. Meanwhile, Jamison Crowder has proven he’s one of the better wide receivers in football. Finally, Robert Kelley has gone from undrafted, to barely making the roster, to starting running back in less than a year.

Kelley isn’t the only undrafted player making an impact on the offense however. Maurice Harris has been steadily getting time over the last three weeks, and he’s taking advantage. The wide receiver isn’t putting up huge numbers or anything, but he’s making an impact during his extremely limited time on the field.

In those three weeks, Harris has been targeted six times. He has reeled in all six passes for receptions and collecting 53 yards in the process.

Listed at 6-2 and 200 pounds, Harris has fantastic size for a receiver. His solid hands, good athletic ability, and fantastic footwork are all added bonuses. Now, don’t expect Harris to have a monster game any time soon. He possesses the ability to do so, but he’s playing far too sparingly to do so. However, what he has done has pushed the rest of the receiving corp.

Ryan Grant and Rashad Ross have already gotten snaps taken away from them due to Harris. It’s extremely unlikely that Garcon, Jackson, or Crowder would get the same treatment. That doesn’t mean that they won’t be looking over their shoulders on occasion. With Josh Doctson sidelined, Harris is a full two inches taller than any other receiver. That gives him a major advantage when it comes to possession and red zone targets.

Harris isn’t on many radars at the moment, but the 24-year-old gives plenty of reasons why that may not be the case for long. His size, ability, and recent play all give Redskins fans something else to look out for on Sundays.
