The New York Jets embarrassed their fans and themselves in a blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football in Week 13.

30. 41. 46. Final. 10

On a night when the biggest cheer comes for the entry of the backup quarterback, it’s a bad night for the home team—and that is what it was for the New York Jets. The building was half empty for Monday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts and with good reason. New York put on one of the worst shows they have given their home fans in a long time. They simply got nothing going.

Right from the jump, the Colts knew what was at stake and played like they wanted it. After a three-and-out by the Jets to open the night, they went right down the field, opening the scoring with the first of three touchdown passes to Dwayne Allen. Indianapolis went ahead 7-0 and never looked back. It was 24-3 in favor of the Colts at halftime and it could have been a lot worse. If not for a Jack Doyle fumble late in the first half, it would have been worse.

New York didn’t even move the chains until late in the first quarter. By then, it was 14-0 and New York was showing no signs of life, much less getting back into the game. Ryan Fitzpatrick played like barely a journeyman quarterback and was benched after a bad interception at the end of the first half. Bryce Petty played the second half and threw to Robby Anderson for a score late, but it was window dressing. It was a dominant performance by Indianapolis from opening kickoff to final gun.

Matt Forte couldn’t get anything going, rushing for 25 yards before the ground game became irrelevant. Fitzpatrick was 5-12 for 81 yards and the one interception that sent him to the bench. All in all, it was a great night for the Colts and a forgettable one for New York.

Three Stars

Dwayne Allen, Colts — Colts receivers ran free all night, but Allen dominated to the tune of three touchdown receptions.

Andrew Luck, Colts — Coming off of the first concussion of his career, Andrew Luck returned with vigor. He went 22-of-28 for 278 yards and four touchdowns.

T.Y. Hilton, Colts — Hilton caught nine passes to lead all receivers and posted a game-high 146 yards. He torched Darrelle Revis and anyone else who tried to guard him.
