The Kansas City Chiefs have undergone big changes after winning the AFC West last season, but when does their 2017 training camp get underway?

Things looked to be going as planned for the Kansas City Chiefs heading into the 2017 NFL season. Sure, they began the transition at quarterback by drafting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and trading up to do so. What’s more, the Chiefs signed head coach Andy Reid to an extension. Then, however, came the firing of general manager John Dorsey.

This move came on the heels of the Jeremy Maclin release, though it remains to be seen how big of a role that played. Now the Chiefs have a GM search taking place going into 2017 training camp. But when you look on the field, things look quality for Kansas City as they hope to again capture the AFC West, sure to be one of the most competitive divisions in football.

We all know that the Chiefs defense will remain their driving force. They have so much going for them on that side of the ball, even with Dontari Poe’s departure. Kansas City replaced him with Bennie Logan. Now he’ll join the likes of Justin Houston, Dee Ford, Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Marcus Peters and all of the tremendous talent on this unit.

The linchpin in this season, though, could again be the offense. They plan on relying on the explosive Tyreek Hill much more, exacerbated by the departure of Maclin. That also puts more pressure on still-quarterback Alex Smith, especially with his days seemingly numbered after Mahomes was drafted.

Now that they’re in this spot, Kansas City Chiefs training camp should be fascinating. But when does it begin?
