Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers correctly ranked in NFL Top 100

Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and it’s hard to argue with his NFL Top 100 spot.
Every year, NFL Network produces the NFL Top 100 list. The list ranks the top 100 players in the game, according to the players themselves. Every year, without fail, every fan complains about the list. Fans of each team claim their players got snubbed, the list is fake, they didn’t actually talk to the players, or someone’s getting preferential treatment.

In the end, though, it’s just a list. The rankings don’t actually mean anything in the grand scheme of things. It’s just fun to see how others rank these players, and it starts a “friendly” debate.
This year, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers was ranked sixth — exactly where he was last year. He was the second-highest quarterback, and fourth highest offensive player. Ahead of him were Khalil Mack (5), Antonio Brown (4), Julio Jones (3), Von Miller (2), and Tom Brady (1).

So when you first saw No. 6, I’m sure a lot of Packers fans wanted to argue. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks of all time, and that’s not up for debate. After seeing the five in front of him, it’s hard to argue though.
Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all-time, and led the Patriots team to another Super Bowl ring. Von Miller and Khalil Mack are two of the most feared pass-rushers in football, while Antonio Brown and Julio Jones just can’t be covered.
2016 was indeed another ridiculous year for Rodgers. He threw 40 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions. He threw for 4,428 yards and completed 65.7 percent of his passes. Rodgers hasn’t thrown double digits interceptions since 2010 (11) and only did it one time before that (13 in 2008).

There’s a reason he’s consistently at the top of this list, and a reason to believe a drop-off won’t be happening anytime soon. Rodgers is one of the best to ever play the position. While it’s nice to see him recognized for it, there’s no reason to get upset over a ranking.
