The Buffalo Bills are off to a 4-1 start to the season but that doesn’t mean they can’t improve. Here are three players they could target at the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline to remain in contention.

One of the bigger surprise teams this season has been the Buffalo Bills who are 4-1 entering Week 7. Their lone loss was a six-point defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots, which actually came with quarterback Josh Allen sidelined with a concussion.

While his play has been a fun story, the real reason for their success has been a dominant defense. After five games, they’re third in the league with only 14 points per game scored against them — according to NFL.com.

That’s the exact style of play head coach Sean McDermott wants to be known for. He has a defensive background, being hired by Buffalo after eight seasons as a defensive coordinator — two with the Philadelphia Eagles followed by six with the Carolina Panthers. Overall, McDermott is 19-18 as the head coach, following a 9-7 campaign as a rookie that ended their long playoff drought and a 6-10 season a year ago.

Their early success has them favored to earn one of the two wildcard spots in the AFC. However, if they really want to take their play to the next level and try to compete with some of the better teams in their division, they need to look into making a move ahead of the October 29 NFL Trade Deadline.

Here, we look at three players who could potentially be available that McDermott and his Buffalo Bills could target.
