The ESPY Awards generally leave a lot to be desired, but this year, there was a special moment on the stage that everyone should get a chance to appreciate. Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand, who is paralyzed from the waist down during a game in October of 2010, was awarded the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. There is no one more deserving and LeGrand showed us why after receiving the award.

Check out his incredible speech:

LeGrand already reached one of his goals of making the NFL, after former head coach and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano made an amazing gesture of kindness. LeGrand now faces a bigger challenge and he is as determined as ever.

When you hear LeGrand speak, you listen. The courage he has is inspiring and his entire message is powerful. LeGrand is a great guy and one you can’t help but root for. He said he will walk again someday and I tend to believe him. With strength like his, impossible is nothing.
