Martavis Bryant, @NYJ – I could have written Antonio Brown, but where’s the snazzy in that? Bryant is really coming on of late. He is fulfilling some of the hyper we had for Markus Wheaton. In the last three weeks Bryant hasn’t seen less than five targets and has a five touchdowns in that span. He didn’t have a single catch before three weeks ago and he is already a viable top 30 WR. This week, he could be top five against a Jets defense who, like I said before has some guy who was selling popcorn at safety or something. They’re riddled with injuries over there.
Torrey Smith, vsTen – If there has been anyone who has benefited more from Steve Smith getting signed to the Ravens this year I don’t know who it is. No, the younger (yet much taller) Smith hasn’t lit up score boards a lot this year. After posting one touchdown in the first four weeks he has four touchdowns in the last five. Defenses are targeting the elder Smith and the Torrey is getting more and more looks. He had seven targets last week in Pittsburgh.
Percy Harvin, vsPit – If anything is going to come out the Jets this week it will probably be Harvin. They proved last week they can implement him into their offense immediately. Harvin does appear to have some new rejuvenation and that bodes well for his owners. He is a leader in the all important YAC category. Keep throwing him out there.
Jordan Matthews, vsCar – Want a sneaky pick up this week? Try Matthews. He has a back up QB who has spent much of the season throwing to him in practice. Of course, Jeremy Maclin is still the number one guy. Matthews might see some extra targets this week and possibly going forward.
Wide Receivers to Die With:
Larry Fitzgerlad, vsStL – He has solid games the past two weeks but since I need him to come through big this week in a league he probably won’t. Fair warning out there.
Terrance Williams, @Jax – Until Tony Romo is back at 100% it will be increasingly difficult to get him the ball. He needs it in stride and down the field. It appears only Romo can do that. Still, I don’t expect him to be proficient enough this week even if he plays the entire game.
Kendall Wright, @Bal – Baltimore may give up the most points to opposing receivers, but look at the match-ups. The Steelers, Colts, Bengals, Falcons all have good passing games. The Titans do not. Especially with a rookie Zach Mettenberger. Hard to rely on here.
