4. Carolina Panthers Fans

The Panthers had high hopes for the Super Bowl this season after going 12-4 a year ago. Carolina fans thought fourth-year quarterback Cam Newton was going to lead them to a special season. This was especially true after the Panthers began the year 3-2-1, but since then they’ve lost five consecutive games — ouch. Newton has been average in 2014 (14 total TDs, 10 INTs) throwing five interceptions in the last two games. I’d say “someone get this fan base a round of drinks,” but I’m pretty sure they’ve already had their share. Fortunately for them, at 3-7-1 they’re still not out of the playoff hunt because they exist in the league’s worst division.

3. Oakland Raiders Fans

Where to begin with the Raiders? I suppose we can lead off with their 0-10 record. No matter how little a fan was expecting from their team an 0-10 record is more than enough reason to grab another drink. It’s not like they haven’t come close to wining. They’ve lost some games by only a few points, including last week’s 13-6 loss to the Chargers. Rookie quarterback Derek Carr has shown some promise (13 TDs, 9 INTs), but hasn’t been able to get them over the hump yet. No one in Oakland was expecting the Raiders to win the division this year, but no one thought they’d be winless in mid-November either. Here’s to hoping the Raiders’ organization doesn’t move to Los Angeles in the coming years.
