The Tennessee Titans are also in a similar situation like the Buccaneers in that they don’t truly have their franchise quarterback in place to enable them to take the next step towards greatness. I’ve always believed the best teams always have the consistent answer for success in having a game-changing quarterback.

If you look across the league with teams like the Green Bay Packers to the recent Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, they all share the common theme of having a franchise quarterback in place that puts them in a position to always be competitive and succeed in doing so.

The Titans believe that quarterback Zach Mettenberger could turn into a nice option down the road but they don’t have the time to wait around hoping he’s their definitive answer. Mariota impressed many at the combine and showed his maturity as an athlete in all his interviews.

As the next face of their franchise, Mariota will need time to develop before he’s ready to step in and take control. That’s why it’s good to have more options than no options down the road since Mettenberger and Mariota could battle it out come training camp for the starting position in which it could go either way. The Titans would then have two strong candidates to build upon for the future.
. Quarterback. Oregon. Marcus Mariota. 2. player. 35
