Fourth Round: Eric Rowe, CB/S, Utah

Scouts are torn as to whether Rowe projects as a physical press corner or an athletic safety.

Hey, guess what? Those are two things the Eagles could use in spades. I am not sure where the Eagles see Rowe as a fit at the next level: He has the size (6’1”, 205 lbs,) length, and physicality to be a Byron Maxwell-like corner in the Eagles Scheme.

But he also has the combo of length and athleticism that the Eagles desire in a safety that can play over the top or underneath. Clearly, the Eagles love their safeties to be converted corners: Malcolm Jenkins was a corner. So was hotly-pursued-but-ultimately-lost free agent Devin McCourty.

Rowe’s stock will climb. And by draft day the Eagles may need to use a third round pick to nab a player that instantly provides special teams play and could one day start almost anywhere in the secondary. But for now, they get lucky and get him in the fourth.
