The Seahawks were (in their minds) forced to part ways with Percy Harvin during the middle of last season. It was an unfortunate turn of events given Harvin’s undeniable talent, but bad eggs have to go.

It’s now possible that Seattle will try to find a Harvin-like player (slot receiver/returner) in the draft to get back some of what they lost in playmaking ability in 2014.

Tyler Lockett out of Kansas State definitely fits the bill. He’s 5-10, 182-pounds and quick as a hiccup (4.4/40).

The obvious knock on Lockett is his size. Any receiver that’s under 200-pounds is at a higher risk for injury at the hands of physical cornerbacks, and it’s worse depending on how aggressive the receiver is. Harvin’s wreckless style has undoubtedly landed him on the shelf more than once in his NFL career.

But the Seahawks are a team that can afford to role the dice on a speedster who will likely have a short NFL career. If Lockett is there in round three or four he’d be a highly intriguing player right out of the gate.
