Backups
Pierre Warren and Raphael Bush will definitely get a number of snaps next season as Rob Ryan will try to bring back some 3-safeties looks that he used to put on the field in 2013 (and that he couldn’t use last year mainly because of injuries at the position). Bush has the edge because of experience but he will have to show that he’s fully recovered from last year’s injury otherwise he might be downgraded fastly.
Barring a couple of injuries sophomore Vinnie Sunseri will be utilized mainly on special teams, a unit where he made some noise last season before an injury cut short his rookie year. Sunseri and Warren might have to fight for a roster spot simply because the Saints can’t keep too many DBs on the 53-men roster and this will be an interesting battle during training camp.
Jamarca Sanford will probably get cut at some point if all his aforementioned teammates stay healthy. He provides good depth but his chances are slim at this point.
