Houston Texans: Top 5 defenses on the 2015 schedule

New York Jets (2014: 6th total yards, 14th passing yards, 5th rushing yards)
The third AFC East team to make my list, no team improved their defense more than the New York Jets. The loss of Rex Ryan will hurt, but he had worn out his welcome in New York and it was time for a change. The Jets were able to bring back Darrelle Revis, who may be the best cornerback in the game, and also added Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine, completely re-inventing their defensive backfield. The addition of Marcus Gilchrist should shore up the safety position.
The Jets already have a solid front seven, and they improved it in the draft by selecting Leonard Williams. Williams will help soften the blow of the recent news that Sheldon Richardson will be suspended for four games, and should also help spell Muhammad Wilkerson later in the season. The only thing preventing this unit from being truly elite is the lack of a pass rush.
A strong secondary and front seven will make it very difficult to move the ball on the Jets this season. Against Houston, Revis will no doubt lock down on Hopkins, so unless a number two receiver emerges, the Texans may find themselves in a 6-3 battle.
