4. Run Heavy Offense

In the first drive of the game, the Ravens stayed with their run game often. It worked out well at the beginning and had many wondering if the Eagles tight defense from a week ago was just a fluke. Yet, the success didn’t last long, but it was important for John Harbaugh to see from both Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro in the early going.

More from Baltimore Ravens

The drive started with five run plays, including a Taliaferro three-yard run on fourth and one. Baltimore’s run game success was spoiled on a deep throw from Flacco that was deflected and intercepted. On the receiving side of things, Forsett found space and success on the screen play.

Overall, Harbaugh should be pleased to see Taliaferro and Forsett find open space on the run. If the run can find success when the games and scores matter, it will bode well for Flacco and the success for the Ravens as it will allow Flacco time and space to find open teammates.
