No more Robert Meachem. No more Kenny Stills. No more Jimmy Graham. Who’s gonna catch the tons of balls that Drew Brees will sling this year?

Sure, second-year wideout Brandin Cooks has everything set up for a monster season but he can’t be the only targeted player. Plus, we know how much Drew Brees loves to spread the ball around to keep defenses on their toes.

Coleman, an undrafted free agent from Rutgers, spent the 2014 season on the Saints’ practice squad rehabbing from a knee injury. Now he’s healthy and ready to start the new season as the team #3 wide receiver behind Cooks and Colston.

As much as Saints fans love Colston, his numbers dropped drastically over the past few seasons and I’m afraid the trend will carry on in 2015. Coleman will have to step up and become a reliable option for Drew Brees, especially in the red zone, an area where the Saints are looking to replace Jimmy Graham’s physical presence. Coleman, a lean 6’6″-225 pounder is the perfect candidate.

He might need a few games to develop good chemistry with Brees but I’m confident he will become a key player for the Saints’ offense.
