Broncos Defense vs. Aaron Rodgers (& co.)

The Denver Broncos have to know they’re pretty fortunate to be 6-0, seeing as Peyton Manning has more picks than touchdowns and the offense has cored only 9 touchdowns so far. In Week 8 either the Broncos or the Green Bay Packers will fall from the ranks of the undefeated, as they face off in Denver. The Broncos defense, which has carried them this far, is finally going to face an elite offense talent: Aaron Charles Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers boasts a 15:2 touchdown to interception ratio, throwing touchdowns to five different players. Rodgers has thrown only two interceptions this season, both of those coming in Week 5 against the Rams. Those are 2 of the 4 turnovers Green Bay has had this season, with Rodgers and running back James Starks also each losing a fumble.

Denver has feasted on their opponents mistakes so far this year, forcing 17 turnovers and scoring 3 defensive touchdowns. Denver is scoring 1/3 of its points off of turnovers this season, so if they can’t get takeaways they won’t be able to score. This week the Broncos D should be quaking in fear of what Aaron Rodgers will do to them.

Rodgers should be able to pick apart a defense that has benefitted from soft matchups so far this season, and I expect the Packers to run away with this game. With Eddie Lacy expected to be at full strength and Davante Adams expected to return from an ankle injury, the Green Bay offense will be as good as its been all year. If I’m Denver’s defensive backs I’m bringing Aaron Rodgers my leftover Halloween candy as a peace offering this week, and hoping he doesn’t beat me too badly.
