QB Jared Goff-California

Come one now, you all knew this was coming. Now this all depends on whether offensive coordinator stays in Chicago. If Gase takes a head coaching position, then look for the Bears to take a quarterback in this round. It will be a quarterback competition between backup David Fales and whomever the Bears choose in this round, however the best fit for the Bears would be Jared Goff of California State. This young man consistently improves every year he plays. Even though he is a Junior, he is exceptional at his craft.

Goff is a solid passer with a strong arm and quick-zip release. He has great athleticism and can run for yards if necessary. He has a great over-the-top release and doesn’t shy away from zipping the ball through tight windows. He has impressive accuracy on in-cutting routes and can stand in the pocket with mobility with patience. He loves to pick apart defenses, similar to that of Aaron Rodgers, throwing down sidelines and up the middle, which is great for Gase’s system of play. He has some deficiencies as he doesn’t scramble well and drops his accuracy when trying to throw on the run.
