SS Jayron Kearse-Clemson
Strong safety Antrel Rolle was supposed to be a key component off of free agency this season. He started off doing well until he experienced a hip injury and has been unable to perform. At the age of 31, the Bears will have to go with a fast and agile safety who will disrupt plays with confidence. Kearse is just that player who has the athletic range and ball skills that the Bears and any other NFL team for that matter needs so badly.

At 6-5″ and around 220 pounds he has the frame of a strong safety. He has a long stride and decent speed. His long arms will be an asset to batting down balls when necessary or snatching an interception. He stays focused on the ball and runs to fill his assigned area. He can bring on the hurt when taking down an opponent and is excellent in press coverage. It’s almost as if he swallows up the receiver right off the line of scrimmage. His versatility will cause excitement on Fangio’s 3-4 scheme especially when jamming the slot receiver in tight man coverage.
