Tight Ends

Starts

Jacob Tamme, Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints – After two weeks, he’s averaging eight targets a game and 5.5 receptions per game. If he sees around that many targets against the Saints (and I don’t see why he wouldn’t) he should put up above average numbers.

Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – Last week he saw a ridiculous 12 targets against the Cleveland Browns. This game could be a sneaky shootout and if that’s the case, Pitta should see eight-or-more targets. Looking 100 per healthy from a hip injury he suffered a couple years ago, Pitta could be a top 5-7 FF TE when this season is all said and done.

Sits

Vance McDonald, San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks – Heading into Week 3, McDonald is the second-best fantasy tight end in standard leagues. Keep in mind he only has three receptions between those two games. This is a situation where his ranking isn’t telling the whole story. He’s untrustworthy to throw into starting lineups.

Clive Walford, Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans – He had a solid game in Week 2 (6/50/1), but the Titans have been pretty good against opposing teams’ passing game. Walford is third in line for targets and in a tough matchup I’m not expecting him to follow up on his Week 2 performance.
