Fantasy Football Week 3: Start or Sit?
By Dan Thomas
Last Week and Season-Long Record of Start/Sit
This week and every week I’ll be keeping track of my recommendations from the week before and total for the entire season. Keep in mind I’m not going to recommend ridiculously obvious players to sit or start just to pad my stats.
Week 2 QB Starts: Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, Derek Carr – Both Palmer and Carr did well as they finished as top-four QBs for the Week. Eli Manning let me down as did most of the players in the Saints and Giants game. Result: 2/3
Week 2 QB Sits: Alex Smith, Tyrod Taylor, and Jimmy Garoppolo – Taylor and Jimmy-G drastically exceeded expectations and made me look like a dope. Result: 1/3
Week 2 RB Starts: T.J. Yeldon, C.J. Anderson, and Rashad Jennings – Ugh what a huge letdown by Yeldon and Jennings with great matchups. Wow you guys disgust me. This isn’t a great start for me. Result: 1/3
Week 2 RB Sits: Ameer Abdullah, Jonathan Stewart, and Frank Gore – Abdullah and Stewart both went down with injuries. That’s not what I expected when I told you to sit them but I’ll take. Gore on the other hand couldn’t get anything going on the ground against the Broncos. However, then he goes and gets a receiving TD. For your information, Gore only has three regular season receiving TDs between 2011-2015 . Come on man you’re killing me! Result: 2/3
Week 2 WR Starts: Sterling Shepard, Larry Fitzgerald, and Emmanuel Sanders – Shepard and Fitzgerald killed it while Sanders came up short. Result: 2/3
Week 2 WR Sits: Sammy Watkins, Tyler Lockett, and Golden Tate – Lockett was the only one who did something when he managed put up 99 yards on only four receptions. Result: 2/3
Week 2 TE Starts: Delanie Walker and Coby Fleener – Walker was a top-three tight last week and Fleener continues to underwhelm. I should have known better to start a guy named Coby who starts his name the letter “C”. Result: 1/2
Week 2 TE Sits: Jesse James and Jared Cook – Last week I said James was a “touchdown boom-or-bust guy and I’m not willing to play that game this week against the Bengals”. Too bad for me James was willing to play that game and he scored a touchdown. Result: 1/2

Week 2 D/ST Starts: Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets – The Ravens did their part but the Jets were awful. Result: 1/2
Week 2 D/ST Sits: Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings – Maybe Aaron Rodgers isn’t who I thought he was. At least he didn’t go on a TV dating show so I guess that’s a plus. Result: 1/2
Week 2 Total Results: 14/26 = 54 percent
Season Results: 31/53 = 58 percent
