Mark Ingram

It was tough to decide who to put on this list out of the backfield. When you have two talented running backs, one unfortunately has to be omitted at times. Mark Ingram was the choice to stay for this list and it would have been hard justifying leaving him off it. He has truly become one of the most dominant running backs in the National Football League. With the workload he has been able to handle, that has taken pressure off Brees as well. It is hard to deny that the former has played a huge part in revamping the entire New Orleans offense.

On the season, Ingram carried the ball 230 times for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns. His best game of the campaign came against the Bills on November 12. In that contest, he carried the ball 21 times for 131 yards and three touchdowns.

Ingram will have to make sure he is ready to go as he will face a tough challenge playing in Minnesota. The good news is that the Vikings are not exactly stingy on run defense. Giving up 122.3 rushing yards per game, that is ranked fifth-most in the National Football League. Ingram should be able to see his production increase, and he will be one of New Orleans’ strongest assets if they want to beat the Vikings.
