New Orleans Saints: 3 Key players to beating Vikings in Divisional Round
Drew Brees
By this point in his career, it is safe to say that Brees has defied logic. At age 38, it appears he is not ready to slow down any time soon. The 2017 season was exemplary of that. Brees threw for 4,334 yards, 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He was first in the National Football League in completion percentage at 72 percent, fourth in the NFL in passing yards and second in the league with a 103.9 quarterback rating.
Against the Panthers, Brees went 22-of-33 on the day, throwing for 376 yards and two touchdowns in addition to the interception. His throws looked strong Sunday and he looked very comfortable in the pocket. The Saints offensive line did a nice job of making sure he was kept upright.

He needs to be on his game if the Saints want to beat the Vikings on Sunday. He has plenty of weapons at his disposal and he needs to continue to make good reads. He did that on Sunday, getting the ball out of his hand quickly and getting big chunks of yardage on his passes. He threw the ball confidently, and a quarterback can go a long way if he is confident in his throws. If he is not on top of his game, the Saints will suffer. He is by far the most important player for New Orleans.
