Does a team that led the NFL with 22 interceptions and 34 total takeaways while finishing 10th in the league in pass defense really need more help in the secondary? If you watched the Baltimore Ravens down the stretch against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, the answer is an obvious yes.

All told, John Harbaugh’s team allowed only 18.9 points per game. And Ravens’ defenders surrendered just 30 offensive touchdowns — including only 18 through the air. But in a Week 14 Sunday night loss at Heinz Field, Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 506 yards and two scores in a 39-38 comeback victory.

And with a playoff berth on the line on the final day of the regular season, Bengals’ signal-caller Andy Dalton riddled Baltimore for 222 yards and three touchdowns, including a 49-yard touchdown strike to Tyler Boyd with 44 seconds to play that gave Cincinnati a 31-27 win and knocked Harbaugh’s club out of postseason contention. By the way, the Ravens did not intercept a pass in either of those games.

The team has its share of talent in veteran cornerbacks Brandon Carr and Jimmy Smith. And very-promising 2017 first-round pick Marlon Humphrey bears watching as well. But an experience corner such as Green Bay’s Davon House could be a nice insurance policy in a division that boasts a lot of talent at wide receiver.
