How time flies when the football flies. Baltimore Ravens’ veteran signal-caller Joe Flacco will be entering his 11th NFL season. While the team has struggled with consistency these past five seasons and Flacco missed time in 2015 (6 games) for the first and only time in his pro career, he remains one of the league’s best deep throwers and big-play hurlers.

Case in point is how wide receiver Mike Wallace enjoyed a rebirth of sort thanks in part to the strong-armed quarterback. A Pro Bowl performer with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in his career (2011), he wound being a disappointment with both the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings.

But over the past two years, he’s played in 31 contests for the Ravens and averaged an impressive 14.2 yards per catch. The raw numbers add up to 124 receptions for 1,765 yards and eight touchdowns. However, the nine-year pro — along with fellow wide receiver Michael Campanaro – can test the free-agent market on Wednesday afternoon.

Could the Ravens be looking at another player that can take the top off an opposing defense? Paul Richardson finished fourth on the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 with 44 catches. But he was second on the team with 703 yards, reached the end zone six times and averaged a scintillating 16.0 yards per grab.
