3. Can newly acquired and returning offensive players stay healthy?

Over the past three seasons, the Chicago Bears suffered through an extremely high number of injuries. Not just week-to-week injuries that affect games but injuries that forced key players on injured reserve, thus ending their seasons prematurely.

More from NFL Spin Zone

There are some players on offense who missed many games and now are key players on a new, high-powered Bears offense.

First up is Allen Robinson. He is the Bears’ prized free agent signing. However, he is recovering from an ACL injury. He suffered the injury in Week 1 of last season and missed the rest of the year. Now, though, the Bears pencil him in as the number one receiver. If he is fully healthy, fans expect many big plays. If he still isn’t fully healed, the offense could bog down.

Another key player is Kyle Long. When healthy, he is one of the top guards in the NFL. The problem is keeping him on the field. He missed games over the past two seasons. When he’s not on the line, things go down. You get linemen playing out of position and chaos ensues. Also, Long is a leader and he keeps things even keel on the field. If he can get back to his healthy self, the Bears offense can make the plays needed to win more games than they have in the last few years.

Kevin White is a wild card. The way things are, if he goes down again the team still has options. They depended upon him in the past three seasons and got burned each time. If he stays healthy, however, that turns the wide receiver corps from the worst in the league last season to one of the best in 2018. Add the fact that it’s his contract year and we may see the player many expected since Chicago drafted him.
