NFC West

Basement Dwellers: Arizona Cardinals

It looks like the Cardinals and Seahawks could be at the bottom of the West this season. However, Seattle has Russell Wilson and the Cardinals do not. That’s enough to swing Arizona into last place. I like pretty much everybody else have the 49ers improved enough to make a run a second place in this division. They should finally start getting back to prominence.

The Cardinals still have talent on defense and on offense for that matter, however, this is still a team in flux. I love David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, but quarterback is a concern and there isn’t a whole lot else to love about the offense. The defense is solid, not great. That’s just not good enough especially in the NFC this year.

In 2017 they won eight games and with a new regime I expect that number to drop in 2018 in an improving division. The Rams are potentially dominant, the 49ers are better and it’s always tough to win Seattle. Throw in the fact they have to play the NFC North and the Falcons it could be a really tough season. Josh Rosen could be good but I expect him to be taking his lumps in lost season no later than October.
