4. Lance Lenoir, Wide Receiver

So far in camp and the preseason, the name Lance Lenoir seems to pop up on a near-daily basis. He’s an incredibly fast wideout who has been running past defenders and making clutch catches. So far in the preseason, he hasn’t stood out.

In the first game against San Francisco, he had just three yards on two receptions. He also only managed five yards on three punt returns. His punt returning didn’t step up much against Cincy as he managed only 11 yards, but he did make a nice 19-yard reception.

The problem is, his work has been minimal to this point in the games, which isn’t helping his case. While Dallas has been criticized for their talent at receiver, they’re actually pretty deep. Right now, it looks like Terrance Williams and Allen Hurns will start with Cole Beasley in the slot. Tavon Austin and rookie Michael Gallup will also get plenty of time and that leaves Lenoir battling veteran Deonte Thompson for the last spot — assuming that they do keep six at the position that is.

Lenoir spent last season on the practice squad and Dallas would love to spend another season working with him there. That may not be an option considering the flashes he’s shown as someone likely would claim him. It’s a tough decision and Lenoir has two more weeks to make it more difficult to decide.
