Record Prediction

Taking into account the experience and status of players at key positions on the team and their opponents in 2018, I think the Seahawks will finish with a 9-7 record, just like last season. This means they will be on the verge of making the playoffs again. It’s a testament to the coaching staff and players on the roster that the rebuilding team even has a chance to make the postseason. Ultimately, their playoff hopes will come down to if they can land one of the Wild Cards.

It’s also worth noting the Seahawks are tied for the fifth hardest strength of schedule in the league. The opponents they will face this season were a combined 134-122, a .523 winning percentage, in 2017. That number doesn’t seem to daunting initially, but then you realize five of the teams they’ll face made the playoffs and eight had winning records. This kind of schedule isn’t in favor of teams like Seattle. They’ll need to pull out some tough wins.

The toughest opponents the Seahawks will face this year are the Los Angeles Rams (Weeks 5 and 10), Green Bay Packers (Week 11), and Minnesota Vikings (Week 14). Keep in mind the Packers aren’t counted in among the five playoff teams the Seahawks will face since they didn’t have Aaron Rodgers last season. They have a handful of other potentially really challenging games as well.
