AFC Divisional: Indianapolis Colts (6) at Kansas City Chiefs (1)

As much as I’d love to see the Colts continue their Cinderella story and knock off the Chiefs, I just can’t bring myself to predict that happening. Going against the electric Patrick Mahomes this early in the playoffs just isn’t a smart decision.

Honestly, it’s going to be an amazing game. Heck, aside from the Super Bowl, it may be the best showdown of the 2019 postseason. However, when all is said and done, I think Mahomes and Co. are going to come out on top in what could very well turn into a shootout.

Neither of these defenses is that great, especially against the pass. Indianapolis is ranked 16th in the league, while Kansas City is ranked 31st. While that may seem to give the edge to the Colts, we have to keep in mind that the Chiefs boast one of the most dangerous offenses we’ve seen in years. I mean, they did manage 425.6 yards and 35.3 points per game in 2018 — both tops in the NFL.

Luck will keep it close, taking advantage of Kansas City’s susceptible secondary. Unfortunately, Mahomes will just be too much for the Colts to contain. Chances are it’ll be a high-scoring affair, with the Chiefs putting together a last-minute touchdown drive to sneak away with the win.

Prediction: Chiefs defeat Colts
