2. San Francisco 49ers Greedy Williams, CB, LSU

This isn’t an ideal spot for the San Francisco 49ers to be selecting their pick considering their biggest needs don’t match up with the strength of this class. Currently, the Niners are thin at wide receiver and in the secondary — although they could also use some help at linebacker.

The 2019 class is heavy at defensive line and the 49ers have devoted a lot of early picks to that area. Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, and Solomon Thomas are all players who were picked early and they may be willing to add another big name there, but it’s not necessary.

That’s not going to help them as much as adding a new cornerback though, which is why Greedy Williams out of LSU becomes their pick. Williams has great height for the position at 6-foot-2 but isn’t slow like other corners with his size. He’s also got exceptional hands and will create plenty of turnovers.

Where he needs the most work is on his physicality as Williams isn’t great in run support. Perhaps working alongside Richard Sherman will help his desire to be great and work in this area. They could also be a great candidate to trade down as they may be able to land Williams, or another player at a position of need later while adding more draft stock.
