3. New York Jets: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss

The coming offseason should be pretty interesting for the New York Jets. They just let go of Todd Bowles as they look for a new direction at head coach. It’s an intriguing job because of the fact that they spent the No. 3 overall pick on a quarterback in 2018. With Sam Darnold in the fold, there’s a chance they can start to turn things around.

Now Darnold can’t do it alone, and there weren’t exactly a ton of weapons at his disposal this past season. Heading into this year, they have to rectify that and they can use some help all over the offensive side of the ball — from running back to receiver, and tight end. That being said, the offensive line may be the best place for them to start turning that group around.

Now that they have the most important position figured out, they need to protect his blindside. They do this with the selection of Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little. A large man at 6-foot-5 and 325-pounds, Little is able to control his man with power. He’s able to win in both pass protection as well as run blocking because of this strength. Where he does come up short is his technique.

At times, Little seems to get caught off guard and his consistency suffers because of it. The good news for the team drafting him is, the technique can be taught — which would make him more consistent. All the natural talent he has can’t be coached, which is why he lands so high in this mock.
