6. New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

It’s probably time for the New York Giants to blow everything up. They had a great run during the Eli Manning era and even won two Super Bowls with him under center. But it simply isn’t working anymore.

Looking at his stats, it’s hard to try an put all the problems that the Giants have had in the past couple of seasons on Manning. He’s still completing a high percentage of his passes and had his best season in that regard since he entered the league in 2018. He’s also protecting the football better than ever but something just isn’t working.

The Giants have just eight wins the past two seasons and are coming off a 5-11 campaign in 2018. There’s also a lot of noise around the team with wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. being involved in trade rumors and safety Landon Collins voicing concern over a potential franchise tag.

All that adds up to it being time to rebuild and with the No. 6 overall pick in this mock draft, they get themselves a great piece to use as a cornerstone in a remodel. Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins is the top quarterback in this class and should be the No. 1 target for the G-Men. He has everything they need in a franchise quarterback and will bring renewed hope to a franchise that seems to have none currently.
