2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray climbs in Post-combine two-round projection

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
It looked for a while like the Jacksonville Jaguars could be looking for a quarterback at this spot. Then during the combine, reports surfaced that they believed they were going to land Nick Foles. Those rumors are clearly coming from somewhere and it would be unsurprising to see this come to fruition.
With Foles under center, the Jags suddenly become a real threat in the AFC. Their defense is still strong and last season’s woes were likely more due to the problems on offense tearing down morale. Now, they focus on adding talent around their (potential) new quarterback as they add Jawaan Taylor from Florida.
Taylor is arguably the most complete offensive lineman in the entire 2019 NFL Draft, but he played primarily at right tackle which could lead to him being undervalued. For Jacksonville, that’s fine as they are more than happy to simply improve their line by keeping Taylor in the same state he starred at in school.
Not only will his addition help Foles, but Taylor is an absolute monster in the run game. He’s able to manhandle his guy constantly and can give their ground attack a much-needed shot in the arm. Offensive line isn’t always the sexy pick, but in this case, it is the right one.
