Round 2, Pick 59: Kelvin Harmon, WR, NC State

The Colts have been searching for years for a big wide receiver to pair with Luck and T.Y. Hilton, but they have failed so many times. As the second round is winding down, they’re able to finally get that big-bodied wideout to make their offense all the more dynamic. At 6-2 and 221 pounds, Kelvin Harmon is that exact complement that the team has been searching for.

Over his last two seasons as a full-time starter, Harmon totaled 2,003 yards with 11 touchdowns. He isn’t the fastest guy on the field, but when you have a burner like Hilton on the other side of the field, you need to be big and play up to that size.

That’s what Harmon does. With Eric Ebron playing a dominant red zone role out of the tight end spot, Harmon makes the Indianapolis passing offense borderline unguardable down around the end zone.

When head coach Frank Reich was with the Philadelphia Eagles, they had an elite player at the tight end position with a shifty guy in the slot and a big receiver on the outside. Harmon isn’t nearly as big as Alshon Jeffery, but he does know how to make his size work for him. If the board falls like this, Indy would be getting great value late in the second round.
