3. DT Bennie Logan (Tennessee Titans)

Given the defense’s performance in the team’s lopsided loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, it’s hard to fathom that there was anything improved about this unit from the previous season, but the club did make strides in certain areas.

However, the club’s 41-28 setback at Foxborough in mid-January certainly raised some concerns. And perhaps general manager Tom Telesco may still look to address those issues with a veteran free agent.

In 2017, only the Washington Redskins allowed more yards per game on the ground than the Los Angeles Chargers. This past season, coordinator Gus Bradley’s unit was ninth in the league against the run, but in the loss to the Patriots, Anthony Lynn’s club allowed 155 yards rushing on 34 attempts. In any case, 13-game starter Darius Philon has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, meaning the Chargers are a little thin inside when it comes to defensive tackle.

Versatile Bennie Logan has bounced around the league in recent seasons, suiting up for the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans the past two years, respectively, after beginning his career as a solid part of the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive front from 2013-16. He could team inside with Brandon Mebane and give the Bolts a lot of experience in the middle that defense.
