Round 2, Pick 44: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

It’s extremely possible that A.J. Brown is off the board before the 44th overall selection. He could even be gone before Green Bay picks at No. 30. He wasn’t today, and that just finishes off Green Bay’s dream start in style.

Brown has the ability to play inside and outside without looking uncomfortable, and he gives head coach Matt LaFleur another player in his offense to allow more wrinkles to it that opposing defenses will have to account for.

Brown was highly productive during his time in college, and he did that despite the elite talent that was playing around him. He led the team in yardage despite playing with the superhuman that is D.K. Metcalf. He had more receiving touchdowns than any of his teammates. He may not be the supreme athlete that his teammate is, but he’s going to play at a high level for the next decade. That decade should be spent up north in Green Bay.

Green Bay lost Randall Cobb this offseason when they allowed him to sign with the Dallas Cowboys. They could use a player to fill that slot role, but it doesn’t need to be a small and shifty guy. It can be a big slot like Brown that can confuse opposing defenses, and he can beat them with size or speed. If you’re not happy with grabbing Brown at this spot, you just can’t be made happy.
