3. Rosen’s rookie experience should pay off

Once Carson Palmer retired after the 2017 season, the Cardinals knew last year’s draft would be the perfect opportunity to find a potential successor, which is why they traded up in the first round to land Rosen at No. 10.

Originally, the plan for Arizona in 2018 was to have Rosen spend his rookie year on the bench playing behind their short-term answer at quarterback in Sam Bradford, which didn’t take long to realize was a terrible plan.

Watching Rosen end up starting 13 of the 14 games he played in shows how Bradford’s hefty one-year deal was one of the most ridiculous contracts from the 2018 season. And while it was tough to watch Rosen struggle, for the most part, the one positive factor is this can be used as a learning experience.

Most rookie quarterbacks in Rosen’s position playing in a below average offense tend to struggle the way he did, but at least this surprise experience early on could end up paying off in the long run.

Instead of Rosen entering the 2019 season without any starting experience, the Giants would most likely feel much better knowing the youngster is familiar with the NFL level of play, and will hopefully only get better with experience.
