Grading every NFL team’s 2019 offseason

Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers made their intentions clear this offseason as they added a lot of talent to the defensive side of the ball. In free agency, it was Za’Darius from the Baltimore Ravens and Preston Smith from the Washington Redskins. They replaced Clay Matthews who left as a free agent and Nick Perry who was released as the primary edge rushers. They also landed safety Adrian Amos from Chicago as they were finally players in free agency after years of frugality.
Green Bay then added Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary and Maryland safety Darnell Savage in the draft with their two first-round picks. They followed those selections up with Elton Jenkins and Jace Sternberger to fortify the O-line and tight end group respectively.
Outside of those two, the offense will rely heavily on new head coach Matt LaFleur and a healthy Aaron Rodgers. After playing most of 2018 with a leg injury, Rodgers should be back to 100 percent. He won’t have one of his favorite targets though as Randall Cobb left in free agency — one season after seeing Jordy Nelson go.
They needed to get younger and have. They needed to bulk up their defense and they did. The last question is if they made the right coaching hire.
