Dallas Cowboys: 8-8

Before Dallas Cowboys fans freak out over the 8-8 prediction after winning the NFC East title for the second time in three years, keep in mind the pressure this team will be dealing with heading into the 2019 season.

Advancing to the Divisional Round of the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Rams last January was impressive enough for the Cowboys, but their upcoming schedule puts them in a difficult position to make it three playoff appearances in four years.

For starters, Dallas faces the difficult task of playing in a division that saw two other teams in the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins make numerous key moves this offseason to put them in better position to compete in the NFC East.

Without question, the Cowboys are loaded with talent on both sides of the football, but also the one downfall of finishing on top of the division is having to face some tougher competition the following year.

From an early battle on the road against the New Orleans Saints in September, to traveling to the midwest in December to take on the Chicago Bears, the Cowboys realize how difficult it’s going to be to repeat as division champions.

Plus, after that trip to Chicago in December, Dallas finishes the year against the Rams, the Eagles and the Redskins, showing how the race in the division could very well go right down to the wire.

Also, with the Cowboys having to possibly worry about contract situations with key players on offense highlighted by Dak Prescott, here’s to hoping this doesn’t become a distraction for the team.
