Dallas Cowboys: 5 Potential first-time Pro Bowlers in 2019
By Randy Gurzi
2. Michael Gallup, Wide Receiver
After passing on a wide receiver in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, it seemed all but certain they would add one in the second round. Then with the 50th overall selection, Dallas shocked us again by taking Texas offensive lineman Connor Williams.
Then with the 81st overall pick, the Cowboys finally added a wideout to their depleted corps, taking Michael Gallup out of Colorado State. He joined the team after a highly-productive two-year stint at Colorado State where he had 176 receptions for 2,690 yards and 21 touchdowns.

He was part of the plans from the start in Big D, but the passing game as a whole was stagnant to kick off the season. He still had his share of moments, including an 81-yard outing against the Washington Redskins in Week 7.
Gallup then started to find more openings deep when Amari Cooper arrived, taking advantage of the one-on-ones he was receiving. One of his best outings came in their surprising Week 12 win over New Orleans when Gallup had 76 yards off five receptions.
It could have been even more as Gallup found himself running free for a potential long touchdown, but was missed by quarterback Dak Prescott.
With another season of working with Dak under his belt, don’t be surprised if they start hitting on those plays more. Should that happen, he could end up doing enough to make the trip to his first Pro Bowl in 2019.
