Cleveland Browns: Breaking down roster by probability of making team
By Cory Kinnan
Doubtful:
These players look like camp bodies who are here to prove themselves. In the past, players have fought their way onto rosters from this position before, and these players will do the same. From undrafted free agents, to players scooped up from the Alliance of American Football, the following players face an uphill battle to make the final 53-man roster in Cleveland.
QB David Blough
After a successful career at Purdue, Blough looks like a camp arm. However, he seems like a likely candidate to be a practice squad stash with the potential to take over the backup role in 2020 and beyond.
RB Trayone Gray
RB D’Ernest Johnson
WR Dorian Baker
Baker is an interesting wide receiver at 6-3. If he puts together a strong camp, he could potentially usurp a roster spot from Ratley or Willies when it is all said and done.
WR Ishmael Hyman
WR Blake Jackson
WR D.J. Montgomery
OT Brad Seaton
C Willie Wright
DT Brian Price
Price saw some reps on the field in 2018, but given his age and production, he is the easiest along the defensive line to part with.
DE Jarell Owens
DE Wyatt Ray
An interesting undrafted free agent, Ray may have one of the better chances of making the roster as there is not a whole lot of depth along their defensive line behind the star-studded starters. However, he will still face an uphill battle.
LB Willie Harvey
LB Anthony Stubbs
LB Dedrick Young
CB Justin Burris
CB Jhavonte Dean
CB Lenzy Pipkins
CB Jermaine Ponder
S J.T. Hassell
S Tigie Sankoh
K Greg Joseph
The starting kicker from a year ago has an uphill battle after the Browns took Seibert in the fifth round a month ago.
