3. Reggie Davis, Wide Receiver

Entering his third NFL season, wide receiver Reggie Davis has had a hard time finding a home. A standout at the University of Georgia, Davis started out his career as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons. He was waived and landed with the Cleveland Browns.

That was a short stint and Davis then rejoined the Falcons. In 2018, he again started with the Dirty Birds before going to the Philadelphia Eagles and finally, the Cowboys in November. Throughout all those stints, he continued to play on the practice sqaud, never making it to the active roster.

However, he may finally be getting close. According to his position coach, Davis has been turning heads in Dallas and is possibly the most improved player on the team.

"“He was probably our most improved (receiver),” said Sanjay Lal, Davis’ position coach via Rob Phillips and  David Helman of DallasCowboys.com. “If we go back to when we got him last October/November, he’s probably the most improved guy on the team. He made a big jump this week.”"

Davis’ calling card is his speed, which he showed off as a rookie in Atlanta when he had 126 yards on eight receptions in the preseason. The problem is, he’s undersized at 5-11 and 170 pounds and hasn’t been a great route runner.

Still, you can’t teach the kind of speed he has, and his improvement is encouraging. The receiver room is crowded this year, but Davis has a shot at making the team, especially considering their desire to get quicker on offense.
