1. Brian Dawkins – S

Given that he’s now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it’s very hard not to have Brian Dawkins at the top of this list. While Donovan McNabb was the identity of the Eagles’ offense during the 21st century, Dawkins was the definitely the player that best represented the team’s defense during that same time period.

The former Philadelphia safety could do it all whenever he was out on the field. Dawkins could deliver a bone-crushing hit, knock a pass down while in coverage, and somehow the football seemed to end up in his hands more often than not each season.

A starter for the Eagles during his entire tenure with the team, the talented safety was one of the best in the NFL at his position. Dawkins’ outstanding play in Philadelphia resulted in him getting invited to seven Pro Bowls and earning four First-Team All-Pro selections.

In the Eagles’ all-time record book, Dawkins ranks first in career interceptions, career forced fumbles, and career pass breakups. The former Philadelphia safety also had more sacks (17.5) than any other defensive back to play for the team in the 21st century.

In addition to his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction in 2018, Dawkins also had his No. 20 retired by the Eagles in 2012. The former Philadelphia safety will forever be remembered as one of the greatest players in franchise history.
