3. Ty Law – CB

In a few weeks, Ty Law will become the first of what will likely be many former members of the Patriots dynasty to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Even though he was with New England for five years before the 2000 season, the 21st century is where Law really began to emerge as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.

During the Patriots first four years with Bill Belichick as their head coach, the veteran corner was voted to three Pro Bowls and he also earned his second career First-Team All-Pro selection. That All-Pro selection came after a 2003 season in which Law intercepted six passes and finished with a league-leading 23 pass breakups.

During New England’s Super Bowl matchup against the St. Louis Rams in 2001, the talented corner intercepted a pass in the second quarter and took it 47 yards the other way for a touchdown. The play gave the Patriots a ton of momentum and it ultimately played a big factor in them getting the win over the Rams that day.

Plays like this one are how Law cemented his legacy has one of the best corners to ever play in the NFL. He seemed to step up his play whenever the lights shined the brightest.

In 2014, Law’s time with New England was honored when he was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame. Hopefully, that ceremony prepared the corner for what be going down in Canton this summer.
