DT Trevon Coley

Trevon Coley was signed by Sashi Brown back in 2017 after going undrafted the year before, and was relied upon as a starter for Gregg Williams’ defense that year. Last year his playing time decreased from the snaps he saw in 2017 and now, with the addition of Sheldon Richardson, Coley could be out of a job.

Throughout his two year career with the Browns, Coley has recorded 29 starts, tallying 2.5 sacks and 41 solo tackles over that span; he has also recorded 11 tackles behind the line of scrimmage while wearing the brown and orange as well.

Good news for Coley, the Browns did not make much of an effort outside of Richardson to bulster the depth at the defensive tackle position. Coley still could find a limited role, giving Richardson and Larry Ogunjobi much needed breaks, but he could also lose a roster spot altogether.

While Coley outplayed them last year, Dorsey added Carl Davis, Daniel Ekuale and Devaroe Lawrence last offseason as teams were making their cuts. I am not saying these players are better than Coley, but he will have his work cut out for him to prove he deserves to keep a roster spot at training camp.
